Pavilion Rebuild 1990

Bit of History

The photograph below shows the pavilion, bowls green and the tennis courts (which became the new indoor bowls club in 1967). The Pavilion needed repair in the late 1980's. The architect, Joe Groom, Builder, Bob Thacker and Trustee, Ernie Taylor are seen in the photograph below. The opening was performed by our Club Intenational, John Ottaway (above). The Pavilion was named in honour of the recent Secretary, Bert Warren who had worked endlessly to move the Club forward and had died in 1986.

The original outdoor bowls pavilion was built in the late nineteen twenties.
