NEWS Update - September 2005.

The Summer of 2005 has flown past and this is the first update to the news since April. We have had some sad new and some good news during the summer and now we are looking towards the darker nights and indoor bowling.

Our Hon Mens Secretary and Hon Assistant Treasurer, Mike Gulliver became the Norfolk County Indoor Bowling Association President for the 2005/2006 season, Congratulations.

Congratulations to David Gibbs on becoming an county umpire.



News from the green...Quite a successful outdoor season for the mens section:-

John Ottaway was selection to represent England in the outdoor international series, this was John's twentieth year as an international player, Congratulations.

Stephan Adcock, Peter Harlow and John Ottaway reached the county triples final and went on to represent Norfolk at Worthing in the National finals during August.

John Ottaway won the county singles final and went on to represent Norfolk at Worthing in the National finals during August.

Stephan Adcock, John Ottaway, Roger Guy and Bob Thacker all represented Norfolk in the finals of the Middleton Cup at Worthing.

The Dell men won the county inter-club knockout Bales cup, beating Reepham Private bowls club in the final at Hingham.

The Mens Outdoor County leagues were not as successful as in 2004, as can been seen from the league results:-



We announce the sad lose of our Hon Treasurer, Laurie Culver who passed away in August, we shall miss his accounting skills, dedication, wit and friendship.



and also the loss of George Jones a regular supporter of the Dell and Hon Club Secretary (1966 and 1967).
